“In the next 12 to 15 months, the world economy will get a gradual not fast recovery.” said Jennifer Shipley, the former Prime Minister of New Zealand. She added that new development opportunities not only lie in traditional industries, and new economic fields, like new energy, will provide extraordinary prospects for strategic-minded people.

Jennifer Shipley said as people generally believe low-carbon economy is the potential for future development, and new energy production and energy efficiency technologies will be the focus of work in China, and therefore it will bring investors new opportunities and new international business companies will emerge.

“Because ultimately the development of developing countries is in its infancy, they abundant emission of carbon dioxide will surely occur.” The Former British Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott delivered a speech and suggested measuring carbon emissions by different models.

The Former UN Deputy Secretary-General Morris Strong in a keynote speech stressed that, during the development of low-carbon economy, the developing countries need more help for more ambitious projects, and more loans to reduce costs. “To achieve climate security in our investment, we need more opportunities. Either commerce or individual can make a contribution to the establishment of a new economy. Environment and the economic crisis are linked together.” He also suggested that natural gas be placed in an important position.

Zhao Yong, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and Secretary of Tangshan Municipal Committee, said green sustainable development can promote a full recovery because it can create not only many new needs, but also a lot of domestic demand opportunities, and therefore create a new way for global sustainable development. In this regard, he suggested that the global evaluation system should be established against time, vigorously promote green production methods, and fully advocate green lifestyle while improving the green subsidy mechanism and promoting green technology innovations.

Caofeidian, a national demonstration area of circular economy, in accordance with the principle of “Reduction, Reuse, Recycling”, will accelerate the construction of circular economy chain, and efficiently utilize resources and energies, form a complete recycling system of renewable resources, and establish a centralized industry cluster producing energy-efficient products.

The three-day First Caofeidian Forum is the first international high-end permanent forum themed “Scientific Development, Sustainable Development” in China, co-organized by Hebei Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Land Resources, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Development Research Center of the State Council, and undertaken by Tangshan Municipal Government.
